Announcements for August 7

Today’s flowers are dedicated to the glory of God and in honor of all members of St. John’s, by Glenn and Kathy Lindler.

Thank you to everyone who provided names of people in the historical pictures which were on display in the Fellowship Hall for the past month.

We’d like to express thanks to Chickenbutts for donating four dozen donuts to VBS last week.

Our VBS mission this year benefited Sole Stepping. We will continue collecting new pairs of sneakers in elementary children’s sizes until the end of August. Socks are also appreciated. The sizes especially needed by Sole Stepping are Sizes 1 through 3, including half sizes. Wide shoes are also needed.

August’s Noisy Offering will benefit victims of flooding in Kentucky. Thrivent will match donations $1.00 for every $2.00 donated via their web site, up to $100,000.

Next Sunday, August 14, we will have a backpack blessing during the Children’s Message. Children are encouraged to bring their backpacks for the blessing before the start of the new school year.
