Announcements for August 28

Today’s flowers are dedicated to the glory of God and in honor of Jeannie and Criston Dailey for their weekly dedication in printing the worship folders and announcements, by Sam and Jan Samson.

Our VBS mission this year benefited Sole Stepping. We will continue collecting new pairs of sneakers in elementary children’s sizes until the end of August. Socks are also appreciated.

One of the steps we are taking as part of the transition to a new pastor is to review and document the history of St. John’s. On September 25 immediately following worship, the congregation is invited to our History Day luncheon.

The last history of the church was written for the 75th anniversary in 1989. We would like to use the collective memory of the congregation to document everything that has happened since 1989.

Please work to remember people, groups, activities or anything else we might want to include in our church history, and bring your thoughts to the History Day luncheon on September 25. If you have memories but won’t be able to attend on the 25th, send them to the church office email.
