Our first Lenten service will be on Wednesday, March 8 at Mt. Olivet with Pastor Roy Butler presenting a bible study on the Ten Commandments. On Wednesday, March 15 at Bethel, Vicar John will present a bible study on the Apostle’s Creed. The service will begin at 6:00 with supper.
A new movie, “Martin Luther, The Idea That Changed The World,” will be showing at Regal Pastime Pavilion on Tuesday, April 4th at 6:30 pm. It is hosted by St. David Lutheran Church, West Columbia. Should you like to attend, get in touch with Jan Samson or Vicar John. Tickets are $11.00.
On March 13th, St. John’s Lutheran Men in Mission will celebrate its annual Ladies’ Night. Our guest speaker will be Mr. Marvin Sox, who will tell us his experiences in Tanzania assisting in supplying water to villages there. Coincidentally, March 19th is Safe Water Sunday in which our Noisy Offering will go to assist in this effort to provide safe drinking water.
Our St. John’s family is collecting books and magazines for Operation In As Much, and will divide the donations between the women’s prison and making them available at the Peoples Picnic at Finlay Park. This will continue through the end of April.
The Vision Committee will meet immediately after worship March 5th to brainstorm ideas for service projects for the remainder of the year. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate.
