Each week, we offer six devotions for the week, based on the4 Sunday sermon.
Monday. May 4, 2026
Scripture: 1 Peter 2:5
“Like living stones, let yourselves be built into a spiritual house…”
Reflection:
Stone walls are built one rock at a time—each one different, each one
necessary. So it is with the church. We don’t all think alike, look alike, or live
alike. And yet, God places us together, shaping us into something stronger
than we could ever be alone. You are not an extra piece. You are part of
what holds the whole thing together.
Prayer:
God, help me see my place in your church. Shape me, and use me, to
build up your people in love. Amen.

Scripture: 1 Peter 2:5
“…to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.”
Reflection:
We don’t bring animals to an altar anymore—but we are still called to
sacrifice. Not our lives, but our egos. Our pride. Our need to be right.
Loving others often means letting go of something in ourselves. These quiet
sacrifices—patience, forgiveness,humility—are the offerings God
desires.
Prayer:
Gracious God, teach me to let go of what gets in the way of love. Help me
offer my life as a gift to you and to others. Amen.

Scripture: John 14:6
“I am the way, and the truth, and the life.”
Reflection:
Jesus does not hand us a map—he becomes the way. To follow him is not
just to believe certain things, but to live as he lived. To walk in his
footsteps. The way of Jesus is not about exclusion, but about love—love
that reaches out, welcomes, and restores.
Prayer:
Jesus, guide my steps. Help me follow your way—not just in what I believe,
but in how I love. Amen.

Scripture: John 13:34
“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.”
Reflection:
Jesus keeps it simple—and not easy. Love one another. Not just when it’s
convenient. Not just when we agree. But as he has loved us—with patience,
mercy, and grace. This is the heart of the Christian life. This is the road we
are called to walk every day.
Prayer:
Lord, teach me to love like you. Give me patience when it’s hard, and grace
when I fall short. Amen.
Friday, May 8, 2026
Scripture: John 15:12
“This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.”
Reflection:
Jesus repeats this command again and again: love one another. He
knows how easily we forget. Love is not just a feeling—it is a choice we
make daily. In small acts of kindness, in words of encouragement, in
moments of forgiveness—we walk in his way.
Prayer:
Loving God, remind me again today to choose love. In my words, my actions,
and my thoughts, help me reflect your grace. Amen.

Scripture: Matthew 25:40
“Just as you did it to one of the least of these… you did it to me.”
Reflection:
The way of Jesus always leads us outward. When we care for
others—especially those in need—we are serving Christ himself. It’s
tempting to turn inward, to focus only on our own concerns. But Jesus calls
us beyond ourselves, into a life of compassion and generosity.
Prayer:
God of mercy, open my eyes to the needs around me. Help me serve
others with a willing heart, trusting that in loving them, I am loving you.
Amen.
