Announcements for 6/27

Altar Flowers are given to the glory of God and in honor of Bobby & Patty’s 62nd wedding anniversary and to Peyton’s 21 birthday on June 28 by the Charles Eleazer family.

St. John’s will celebrate its Homecoming next Sunday. This will be a very special day. We have a number of dedications that we will make including the new tempered glass window coverings, new landscaping, and a new video/sound system. Lunch with all the fixin’s will be furnished by Coleen and Homer Thompson. We will also recognize the graduates at this time.

Planning has begun for this year’s Vacation Bible School. It will be held the week of July 26, beginning at 6:30 each evening. Helpers are needed to be leaders or assistants for activity centers, including snacks and games, crafts, story time, and music. Please contact Jan Samson if you are able to help with VBS this year.

The youth are planning a fishing trip this afternoon, although I’ve heard it’s not just limited to the youth. Please contact Josh Eleazer if you are interested in having a fun afternoon.

Today we will be using our new video/sound system. We welcome this improvement for those who are participating through the internet and those who may be hard of hearing. We hope that there will not be too many glitches today and that it will run smoothly on Homecoming Sunday.

Even though it’s getting warmer, there are many who still need assistance with food and clothing. Please respond with nonperishable food items and/or gently used clothing. All of your donations will be distributed through Sharing God’s Love.

Devotional Booklets are in the Narthex and in the SS/Office Building. Pick yours up today!

We thank Jan Samson and Don Alcorn for their time on Saturday, participating in your Synod Assembly.
