Announcements for August 22
Altar Flowers are given to the glory of God and in honor of Norma Chapman’s birthday on August 23 by Bonita and Al Chapman.
Church Council voted to move our Worship Service to 10:00 AM beginning September 5. Please mark this on your calendar!
The last two weeks have been tumultuous to say the least. The troop withdrawal in Afghanistan has been chaotic and we need to pray for the safety of those who need to get out of the country.
On August 14, a magnitude 7.2 earthquake hit Haiti. At least 2,000 people have been killed with widespread destruction. We can support the Haitians through Lutheran World Relief. This morning we will collect through “Noisy Offering” contributions to assist those in Haiti.
Please don’t forget the needy that depend on Sharing God’s Mission for food. There are many who still need food staples: canned vegetables and soups, pasta, and the like. Please place your donation in the box in the Narthex.
Quote of the week:
Prayer is not a device for getting our wills done through heaven, but a desire that God’s will may be done on earth through us.
