Joint Worship Service
On Sunday, September 29, we will worship with our parish partner, Pomaria Lutheran Church at 210 Folk St., Pomaria, SC, beginning at 10:00 a.m. The service will be followed by food and fellowship in their Fellowship Hall.

“God’s Work. Our Hands” Day of Service
St. John’s and Pomaria Lutheran Churches assembled blankets for the Linus Project and “Cleaning Buckets” for Lutheran Disaster Response. St. John’s completed six blankets and one “Cleaning Bucket.” Completed items will be blessed at our joint worship service at Pomaria Lutheran Church.

Confirmation and Sunday School Classes
Our confirmation and Sunday School classes will meet again on Sunday, October 6 from 4 pm to 5 pm. The classes will meet on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month this fall and 1st and 4th Sundays in the spring. The confirmation class is open to children in grades 6-8.
The Sunday School class for elementary school students uses LEGO® bricks to help teach the children the basic Bible stories. Jan Samson is teaching this class with Steve Kesler assisting.

Property Facilitator(s)
St. John’s is blessed to have beautiful facilities, and we need one or two facilitator(s) to help maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all. This ministry will focus on recruiting to get small tasks done and reaching out to vendors for quotes for more complex tasks. Please let Pastor Michele or a council member know if you feel called to serve.

Card Shower for Martha Richardson
Martha Richardson has been diagnosed with stage 4 uterine cancer, and she will soon start chemotherapy. To show our love, St. John’s is hosting a card shower for her. Please send all cards to Martha Richardson at the following address:

Fall Fish Fry
Mark your calendars now for a fish fry on Thursday, October 17, 2024.

Outing to Blue Ocean Seafood Restaurant
An outing to the Blue Ocean Seafood Restaurant in Clinton is planned for Thursday, October 3rd. We will meet at the restaurant at 3 pm. Please contact Rita Boozer if you would like to share a ride and have not made arrangements to do so. If you have friends or family who would like to join us, please invite them. We need a headcount so that the restaurant will allow us to reserve a private area.

Save the Date for Fall Festival
On Saturday, November 2nd the Pomaria ELCA churches are hosting a Fall Festival at the town hall from 10 A.M. – 2 P.M. There will be food, hay rides, games and more. Those wanting to give out candy are invited to set up cars for “trunk or treat.” Pastor Michele is coordinating games. If you would like to volunteer to run a game for an hour, please let her know.
